Manfred Bauer to be appointed as new Executive Board member at MLP

Wiesloch, 25th March 2010 - Manfred Bauer, the former Chief Executive Officer at Janitos Versicherung AG, is to be appointed as a new member of the MLP AG Executive Board and will be assuming responsibility for the Product Management and Procurement Division. The five-year contract will come into effect in August 2010 at the latest.

Manfred Bauer worked at MLP in different management functions between 1986 and 2005, the last of which as Chief Executive Officer for MLP Versicherung AG. This subsidiary was sold by MLP to the Gothaer Group in 2005, where it has since operated under Janitos Versicherung AG. "I am delighted that we have won such a highly skilled expert in Manfred Bauer who is also extremely familiar with MLP", says MLP Chief Executive Officer Dr. Uwe Schroeder-Wildberg. "We set standards in the market with our partner and product selection process. We will continue to take this path resolutely together with Manfred Bauer over the coming years."

At the same time the Supervisory Board has complied with Gerhard Frieg's wish of resigning at the end of March and moving to Retail Germany Division of Talanx Group as Member of the Management Board responsible of Product Management and Marketing. "We regret the decision by Gerhard Frieg, who has made a major contribution to MLP's success in recent years. At the same time we respect his wish for a career change," adds Uwe Schroeder-Wildberg. The Executive and Supervisory Boards express their gratitude to Gerhard Frieg for his successful work.
